People

Co-founder and Cultural Director, izimpande
'I am Makhosi Nomkhosi, a healer, dancer, and researcher working at the intersection of ritual, art, and embodied knowledge. Born in Germany in political exile and raised across cultures, I have been shaped by a deep search for belonging, meaning, and ancestral connection'
Initiated at the Credo Mutwa Research Institute for Indigenous Healing, Makhosi walks the path of a modern Sangoma, guided by ancestral calling and committed to restoring relational balance between body, spirit, community, and land.
Her work weaves together dance, ritual, healing and research as living forms of knowledge, pathways through which the body remembers, restores, and reconnects to land, spirit, and community.
As an artist and scholar, she explores how embodied and ancestral practices can guide us through ecological and spiritual crises, offering ways of healing that are rooted, relational, and transformative.

Reiki Master, massage therapist.
'I believe that healing is not just about alleviating physical discomfort; it's about embarking on a transformative journey that touches your soul, revitalises your spirit, and rejuvenates your body.
My journey into the realms of energy healing began over two decades ago, driven by a profound passion for bringing about emotional, physical, and spiritual upliftment to those around me.
My core values of respect, kindness, empathy, compassion, integrity, fairness, and responsibility are the pillars that support my mission to offer a healing experience that transcends the conventional'

Hair Artist and Stylist
'My practice explores African creative hairstyles and braid patterns as an alchemy for identity, weaving rhythms and symbolism that connects cultural motifs to a universal human consciousness. It bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary expression by weaving, hand-stitching hair extensions, wool etc. and utilizing the impasto technique to paint intricate braid patterns that create a rhythmic tactile texture.
Ultimately, my work seeks to bridge the past, present and future by creating a visual language that is centered on beauty, healing, versatility, and the enduring power of human touch.
