1. Overview
A42 House is committed to fair and transparent cancellation and refund practices. This policy applies to all bookings made through our website (a42.art), including accommodation stays, experiences, and membership subscriptions. All payments are processed securely through Paystack.
2. Stay Cancellations
- More than 7 days before check-in: Full refund, less Paystack processing fees (see Section 6).
- Within 7 days of check-in: 50% of the total booking amount is charged. The remaining 50% is refunded, less Paystack processing fees.
- No-show or same-day cancellation: The full booking amount is charged. No refund will be issued.
- All stays have a minimum 2-night booking requirement. Shortening a confirmed stay to fewer than 2 nights is treated as a cancellation.
3. Experience Cancellations
- More than 48 hours before the event: Full refund, less Paystack processing fees (see Section 6).
- Within 48 hours of the event: No refund will be issued. However, your booking may be converted to a credit towards a future A42 experience, at our discretion.
- No-show: No refund or credit will be issued.
- If an experience does not reach its minimum participant number, A42 may reschedule or cancel the event. In this case, you will receive a full refund including Paystack processing fees, or the option to transfer your booking to a new date.
4. Membership Cancellations
- Membership subscriptions (Patron tier) are billed monthly. Founding Members have complimentary access. You may cancel your membership at any time.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You will retain access to member benefits until that date.
- Monthly membership fees already paid are non-refundable.
- Points earned through membership activity remain in your account but will expire 12 months after the date earned, as outlined in our Terms of Service.
5. Points Redemptions
- If a booking paid partially or fully with points is cancelled within the eligible cancellation window, redeemed points will be returned to your account.
- If the cancellation falls outside the eligible window, redeemed points are forfeited along with any monetary portion of the payment.
6. Paystack Processing Fees
All payments are processed by our payment partner, Paystack. Paystack processing fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund amount. These fees are charged by Paystack at the time of payment and cannot be recovered by A42 House once a transaction has been processed. This applies to all refunds regardless of the reason for cancellation.
7. How Refunds Are Processed
- Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method used at checkout.
- Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Refund amounts are in South African Rand (ZAR). Any currency conversion differences are the responsibility of the cardholder.
8. Cancellations by A42 House
In the unlikely event that A42 House needs to cancel a confirmed booking due to unforeseen circumstances (maintenance, safety concerns, force majeure, or similar events beyond our control), you will receive a full refund including Paystack processing fees, or the option to rebook for alternative dates at no additional cost.
9. Disputes
If you are unhappy with your experience or wish to dispute a charge, please contact us directly. We aim to resolve all disputes amicably and will review each case individually. If we cannot reach a resolution, you retain your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and may escalate the matter to the National Consumer Commission.
10. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
- Log in to your A42 account and navigate to My Bookings to cancel directly, or
- Email us at hello@crea8tiverepair.com with your booking reference and reason for cancellation.
- We will confirm receipt and process your request within 2 business days.
